In all my years in Florida I never heard of a food co-op. Using my google I see that there many just never my orbit.

Weaver Street Market is a worker- and consumer-owned cooperative selling natural and organic food with a focus on local and fair trade products. The original market is situated in Carrboro NC.

Eat local: In this day and age I think its really important to know where your food comes from. Many of their fruits and vegetables come from trusted local farms that grow with care and follow sustainable, high-quality growing practices. Many are Certified Naturally Grown or USDA Organic.

If your hungry you can pop in and get something that is healthy and cooked. Sometimes on the weekend I’ll get a bunch of yummy sausages, cut up fruit and chocolate croissants and bring them over my kids and grands. Put it out. Its the perfect finger food.

You can also grab a delicious latte while you are there.

They also have local eggs and local dairy (Milk in glass bottles yum!)

One of my favorite things that they do is the round up at the register. This quarter, owners have donated $80,268 for hunger relief. Each time you round up or put cash in their donation boxes the community helps to provide groceries for the growing number of individuals and families in our communities who are facing food insecurity.

So now we have a community supporting our locals farmers and helping those who need food.
