This would be great!
Amendment 2 has been a controversial topic: medical marijuana. The amendment looks to allow medical marijuana for those suffering from certain conditions, like cancer, HIV-AIDS, and Parkinson’s disease. Now, the city of Stuart is considering regulations for medical marijuana treatment centers, should the amendment be approved. Locations of the treatment centers would be limited to areas off of Ocean Blvd and Osceola St near Martin Health Systems, and the centers would not be able to open next to a school or residential area. If the amendment passes, then the Local Planning Agency will consider the regulations on November 17th.
The Florida Medical Marijuana Legalization Initiative, also known as Amendment 2, is on the November 8, 2016, ballot in Florida as an initiated constitutional amendment.

I am a big supporter of medical Marijuana. My father who was terminal ill with cancer in 1980 had a great deal of difficulty with nausea, appetite and depression. He was local business man that had never used drugs in his life other than doctor prescribed but was desperate for some relief. After reading the benefits he decided to try Marijuana for the first time in his last weeks of life which he found quite helpful. A lot of patients with certain illnesses could certainly benefit from it’s use which has been widely documented. The pharmaceutical companies are just fighting against the legalizing of Medical Marijuana for obvious reasons. They’d rather prescribe pain medications like OxyContin which is highly addictive due to it’s profitability. Let’s have some compassion here and pass Amendment 2 giving ailing patients with certain conditions some relief.
